December 18, 2008 - A new 'Infrastructure Crisis Facility' has been launched by the IFC to help ensure that viable, privately funded infrastructure projects in emerging markets have access to funding to weather the financial crisis. Calendar of Events*

The facility will comprise a loan financing trust, an equity facility, and an advisory facility. The loan and equity components are intended to provide funding to stabilize existing, viable infrastructure projects facing temporary liquidity problems due to limited private participation. Both will also enable some continuation of new project development in private infrastructure.

November 30, 2008 - INFRADEV Info-Exchange was launched in Doha UN Financing for Development Meetings to increase the capacity of governments, development agencies & donors to mobilize the private sector for development.

INFRADEV uses Internet tools to enhance the capacity of key participants to develop and finance infrastructure projects in developing countries.

The Experts Group’s Advisory Team is working with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to develop and finance demonstration infrastructure projects in non-investment grade countries, illustrating first-hand how risk mitigation techniques can be used effectively in developing countries to access long-term, low cost sources of finance.
