Following the Experts Group's significant contribution to the World Economic Forum Report "Building on the Monterrey Consensus: The Untapped Potential of Development Finance Institutions to Catalyse Private Investment", the Swiss Government is currently supporting the following activities aim at the implementation of the report's key recommendations:

1) Providing financial advisory for 1-2 infrastructure demonstration projects, under the guidance of Bob Sheppard, prior head of project finance at Bank of America, aimed at accessing long-term affordable capital markets financing (to access a summary on the demonstration project criteria and benefits, please click here); and

2) Developing the INFRADEV Network of the Infrastructure Finance Experts Group by actively promoting exchange through this communication platform and expanding the network’s membership. In addition, periodic conference calls are organized on critical issues such as regulatory risk mitigation and local currency finance, highlighting specific advances in risk mitigation, projects, and success stories.

Sponsors can provide funding for specific events and activities or support the INFRADEV Network on a continuing basis. We are also interested in exploring partnership opportunities with technology providers, information services, professional and business associations, foundations and non-profit organizations.
